I will never forget this case I was in grade 8 or 9 and the group of friends that I hung out with were the trench coat kids and the skater kids. When this happened even in Canada where we don't have access to weapons like this our guidance counselor came up to us and was trying to get us to talk to them and everything and it's just like it frustrated me because I was totally being clumped in with this type of personality. I will never forget that because it left a lasting impression on me and I felt like it was unfair. Especially in Canada where we don't have access to the same type of weapons and the amount of weapons as somebody in the US could.

One of the most under looked aspects of this case in my opinion is that Klebold and Harris were inspired by a terrorist attack.

That's so far outside the scope of the normal outsider mindset, and it also makes the constant "but why did they do it?" and "we'll never know!" very frustrating.

We do know. They were psychopaths with an inferiority complex who wanted to commit an act of terrorism against people who had never done anything to them.

They're really no different from Keyes.

Ooh I didn't know that. I haven't deep dived it, I just remember it because I was in jr high when it happened. I'll be diving into your coverage soon

Most people don't! Part of our coverage of this case (and school shootings in general) is media criticism about this very thing because instead of reporting the truth people who should know better created a little industry out of mythologizing these little psychopaths and turning them into outsider antiheros.
