Missing: Caitlin Denison
Caitlin Denison has been missing since January 10, 2018. Originally from Reno, Nevada, she was last known to be in Midland, Texas.
Six months prior to her disappearance, Caitlin met a man from Midland in Reno, and on January 9th, 2018, he and Caitlin flew from Reno to Texas together. Both Reno and Midland are known as human trafficking hubs, and her family has said that Caitlin was looking for work at Rick's Cabaret in Midland or Odessa, Texas.
Caitlin never told her family members the man's name or what he looked like; only that she was traveling to Texas with him. The day after she arrived in Texas, Caitlin called her sister from the North Midland WalMart on Briarwood Ave and Midland Drive at 2:30 P.M. During said phone call, Caitlin said "this man makes me scared for my life."
It is believed that the night before her disappearance, Denison had stayed with the man in his RV. It is believed they went to Domino's Pizza in Odessa and Rick's Cabaret in addition to the North Midland WalMart.
The Ford F-250 pictured below is the actual vehicle Denison was last known to be in.
Caitlin is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 120 pounds. She has a tattoo on her left finger of an alien head and the letter “M.” She also has a Libra scale tattoo on her left forearm, as well as two piercings on each side of her nose and a piercing on her bottom lip.
According to an interview Kendall Rae conducted with her sister, police talked to the man she was staying with and also the man's mother. He said she got up and left in the middle of the night and did not say a word when she left. The police returned to speak with him again and he allegedly no longer lives there.
Her sister wrote on the Find Caitlin Denison facebook page,
My heart hurts.
It breaks more and more every single day that my sister is not with me.
It breaks knowing that I can’t call her on the phone and tell her about my day or listen to her tell me her crazy stories.
It breaks knowing that we are still begging for people to see her, to share her story, to help us find her.
It breaks knowing that the last time I ever spoke to my sister was her telling me she was afraid for her life and wanted to come home. I want her home so bad my whole body aches.
You have all been so supportive these past five years and we couldn’t be more grateful.
But there’s still so much to do. So much work left to be done if I ever want to know what happened to my sister.
I want my sister home. I wanted my sister home over five years ago. Not a second goes by where i’m not asking myself what I could have done differently, why my person has been ripped from my life, where in the WORLD is my sister and why isn’t she here, with me, where she should be?
Will I ever see her again? Will she ever come over and lay in my bed and show me silly dog videos and tell me jokes and hold my hand? Will we ever get to catch up on the five years that we have missed together? Will I ever see her smile or laugh again?
I wouldn’t wish this pain on anyone.
Caitlin is my soulmate, and right now my soul is shattered. Please help. Please. I am begging. I am begging for my sister to come home.
Here is a Q&A from her family that was shared by her sister:
QUESTION: Do you know the identity of the truck driver Caitlin flew to Midland, TX to meet?
ANSWER: Unfortunately, we do not. Law enforcement does know his identity, but they say they cannot release that information to us.
QUESTION: Did the truck driver fly with Caitlin from Reno to Texas?
ANSWER: We do not have evidence of this, no. We have reason to believe he purchased her airline ticket and then picked her up at the airport in Midland, TX when she arrived.
QUESTION: Is the trucker/ man from Midland or Reno?
ANSWER: He is from "the Reno area" originally, according to what law enforcement has shared.
He may live a nomadic lifestyle, as a truck driver who works and stays short term in different states. He may have a camper that he takes with him when he goes to a new job. We know he was staying in a man camp or RV park in the Midland area when Caitlin disappeared. We do not know which man camp or RV park he may have stayed.
QUESTION: How did Caitlin meet the trucker/man who flew her to Texas? Was she dating him?
ANSWER: We do not know, and police have not disclosed this to us, because it's an open investigation. We believe, from our independent investigation, that Caitlin met the man in a Reno club or possibly in a Reno McDonalds a few weeks before he bought her an airline ticket.
We have no reason to believe Caitlin was in a romantic relationship with him. We do not believe she knew him well at all, but we think it is possible he may have lured her to Texas with the promise of some kind of opportunity or assistance.
In what would become some of her last communications, Caitlin contacted her sister Rachael from wal Mart in Midland the day after her arrival and said the man had tried to sexually assault her and made her afraid for her life.
QUESTION: Where or for whom was the trucker working while in Midland, TX?
ANSWER: We believe he was working as a self employed trucker who may have been contracted to an oil company or multiple companies within the Permian basin. We believe he was working in the oils fields between Midland and Odessa in January 2018 when Caitlin went missing, and may have been staying in a camper in an Rv park or man camp in Midland or Odessa.
Tips on this case can be submitted by phone at the Crime Stoppers Hotline 1-800-225-TIPS. There is a $3,000 reward for anyone with information that results in the subsequent arrest of the person or persons responsible.
