Keyes News and The Death of Murder Talk Radio
We’ll start with some good news:
The first installment of Israel Keyes Life in Detail is basically finished! We exported the final cut and reviewed it this evening. We found a few little issues we need to address, and you can expect it within the next few days after we work them out.
As you can see in the screenshot below, this was a ton of work, and there are still two more installments to go. With a run time of just over 90 minutes, Israel Keyes Life in Full Detail: EARLY YEARS took over 2,500 individual edits, cutting together countless video clips, audio clips, and photographic elements.
For comparison, the average 2 hour film has 1,100 cuts. We appreciate your patience while we put Israel Keyes Life in Full Detail: EARLY YEARS together; we hope that it was worth the wait, and that you enjoy it.
For those of you already well versed in this story, the content in the first installment will be pretty familiar, although there may still be something new for you to discover hidden in the familiar information on Keyes past.
After six straight weeks of editing, we are going to take a day or two off and then get started on the second installment. We would like to thank everyone who took advantage of our pre-sale to support our work. There’s still a little time left if you haven’t.
We are grateful to you for helping cover our production costs, and we hope that delivering a three part series exceeds whatever expectations you had when you became a Crime Culture Media subscriber.
Moving on to more good news, with our recent re-brand, we have decided that the Murder Talk Radio era is coming to an end. As many of you know, some of the Murder Talk Radio episodes are just brutal.
It’s difficult to spend an hour on, for example, the horrifying murder of a child by their parent, or three hours on a school shooting. Difficult to make and difficult to hear; we’ve literally gotten comments like, “Love you guys but had to check out of this one.”
We know exactly how you feel, so we want to mix it up and lighten things up a little bit for your sake and for ours. A new podcast, The True Crimes, will take its place. The name came from a joke one of us made: “The real true crime is this movie.”
We’re aiming for more variety and levity with somewhat less focus on the worst of all human beings. We’ll still talk about crimes, but in somewhat less detail, and with more discussion of culture and media, and hopefully some guests.
The True Crimes will premiere soon for subscribers before finding its way to the Viktoria Evans YouTube channel, Spotify, and Audible. You can also find us in The True Crimes Facebook group.
