Keyes Evidence: Samantha Koenig's Boyfriend Interviewed

The day after Samantha Koenig was kidnapped by Israel Keyes, the Anchorage Police Department (APD) spoke to her boyfriend Duane Tortolani II.

According to Anchorage homicide police Detective Monique Doll, Tortolani was also targeted by Keyes, based on the interviews that APD conducted with Keyes.

"What we found when we interviewed Mr. Keyes was that he knew that the coffee kiosk closed at 8 p.m. and he knew that because Samantha didn't have a vehicle there, somebody was going to come and pick her up," Doll told The Associated Press.

"He was waiting for her ride to come there because he intended to take that person as well. I don't know why he left, but he made it very clear that, you know, that was part of the plan," Doll said.

It is unclear which interview she is referring to, as this seemingly contradicts other statements Doll has made about the abduction.

Doll told the Anchorage Daily News (ADN) that Keyes only planned on abducting the barista working the coffee stand if they had their own vehicle but instead chose to use his own truck in the abduction.

To ADN, Doll says nothing about an impromptu plan to target Tortolani.
