Mental health is something discussed by Delia openly, and though the site was written by Travis, information is often corroborated by Susan.

This is no secret and I am sorry to have to say it, but it is very important to remember that Susan is unwell.

Susan’s low self-esteem and anxiety is something that she herself wrote about on her personal WordPress Invisibl3survivor. This gives some validity to posts like this one, for example, from deliaday.com:

Every moment in life is a performance for the audience.

I am a very socially awkward person, almost socially phobic in fact. I don't honestly do well interacting up close and personal with lots of people. Interaction within arm's reach with strangers frightens me because I'm afraid my personal deficiencies will manifest and I'll act like a socially retarded moron fucking things up yet again. This isn't a matter of poor self image, it's something I take major medication to help, one of those unregulated neurotransmitters issues and one more subject relegated to the more private members area of my site.

Susan admitted that deliaday.com, “seems to contain many actual physical details from my daily life at the time, without the accurate emotions.”

How can a person who struggles to regulate their emotions and who suffers from reality distortions accurately identify emotions that change often?
